The Frogman Corps was established in 1957 and was inspired by the British Special Boat Service (SBS), the American Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT and Navy SEAL) and the Norwegian Marine Hunters. Maritime operations have been and always will be one of the core tasks of the Corps. After completing their service, frogmen can join 'Conventus Ranae

(Latin for "a gathering of frogs"), the formal association of frogmen that aims to strengthen bonds between active and retired frogmen. In recent years, AH Riise has collaborated with Conventus Ranae. This notably led to the launch of the famous AH Riise "Danish Navy Frogman" and in 2017 the exceptional "Royal Danish Navy Frogman 60" was launched to mark the 60th anniversary of the Frogman Corps.
