Gin UKIYO JAPANESE BLOSSOM 70cl 40°

Both Ukiyo Blossom Gin and Ukiyo Yuzu Gin are made from a barley crop that is first distilled in a traditional Japanese shōchū pot still. This shōchū spirit is redistilled in a traditional still with juniper, tangerine and spices before infusing it with the delicate taste of sakura blossom and yuzu. The result is a masterfully distilled traditional Japanese gin.

In Japan, there is a fleeting period in spring when the sakura (cherry) blossoms are in full bloom. In a tradition known as "Hanami", people go to celebrate the cascading of these flowers and the change of seasons. Our Blossom Gin is born from a base of locally grown barley which is distilled into a traditional shōchū spirit. We redistill our shōchū with juniper, regional citrus, cherry blossom and native botanicals, always exercising restraint in the pursuit of clarity and perfection. The fruits of this effort are born in the delicate floral aromas that mimic those found in the mountains and coastline surrounding our home in Kagoshima.
